SWES Food Bank

The Somali Women's Empowerment Society provides fresh and preserved foods for the community at large. We are open to anyone in need. .

Our goal is to provide quality food to those in need. With generous donations and in partnership with Global Access and Inclusion Foundation, SWES has been able to support local communities and families. Our thanks to the GAIF for donating to the cause.

  • SWES is a charitable community based organization that collects and distribute food to individuals and families in need. We play a crucial role in fighting hunger and addressing food insecurity by providing essential food assistance to those who are unable to afford or access an adequate amount of nutritious food.

We rely on donations from various sources, including individuals, businesses, farmers, and food manufacturers. These donations can include non-perishable items like canned goods, grains, and other long-lasting food items. We  may also accept fresh produce, dairy products, and meats, depending on their facilities and resources for refrigeration and storage.

Once donations are received, food bank staff and volunteers sort and inspect the items to ensure they are safe and suitable for distribution. They check for expiration dates, damages, and quality control to provide recipients with safe and nutritious food.

If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, it's recommended to reach out to local food banks or social service agencies in your area to learn about the available resources and support.
